The Food Bank for Monterey County, a Feeding America food bank, is the largest provider of emergency supplemental food in Monterey County, with the mission "to lead community efforts in the awareness and elimination of hunger in Monterey County." Through two countywide programs and the Agency Clearinghouse, a network of 90 nonprofit agencies, the Food Bank serves 1 in 5 Monterey County residents annually - 90,000 different people, with 6 million pounds of food.
